Stress 101 š
Hi fam,
April is National Stress Awareness Month, a whole month to talk about the signs, symptoms, and solutions for our modern-day stress epidemic.
For many, stress may feel like a baseline emotion. A stressful situation ā whether ruminating on a stupid little email or dreading your weekend plans ā can trigger a cascade of stress hormones that catalyze a whole host of physiological changes. Itās natural. Itās innate. So why does it feel so ick?

The truth is, our ability to handle stress depends on a number of factors ā genetics, cultural background, physical health, psychological state, environmental conditions ā the list goes on. The same stressor will affect different people in different ways, depending on their personal circumstances and the support systems they have available.
The ability to identify stress and understand your unique symptoms and triggers is a pivotal step towards effectively managing it.
Name it to tame it, fam.
Here are some more common myths about stress:
āStress Is always harmful
ā While chronic stress can lead to health problems, normal levels of stress can prepare the body for necessary responses to threats.
āStress Is unavoidable
ā While it's true that some stress is inevitable, identifying and managing stress triggers can significantly reduce unnecessary stress.
āEveryone reacts to stress in the same way
ā Stress triggers and responses vary greatly among individuals, making personalized stress management strategies essential.
āStress relief is a one-size-fits-all
ā Different people will find relief in different ways; what works for one person may not work for another.
