🌎 It's World Mental Health Day. How you doin'?
Happy World Mental Health Day to all who celebrate!
Every year on October 10 (or 10 October depending where you’re celebrating), World Mental Health Day is honored as a way to talk about mental health, discuss how we need to look after it, and how important it is to get help if you are struggling. Many organizations just like ours continue to work to ensure that mental health is treated on a par with physical health. Mental health problems exist in our lives, families, workplaces and communities, impacting nearly everyone either directly or indirectly.
This day gives space to amplify mental health education, awareness and advocacy to ultimately end stigma worldwide. It was first celebrated in 1992 as an initiative of the World Federation for Mental Health, a global mental health organization with members and advocates in more than 150 countries.
Today, thousands of supporters have come together either physically, spiritually, emotionally, or virtually (it is 2022 after all) to celebrate this annual awareness program to prioritize mental health.

How are you prioritizing you today?
We want to know how you are prioritizing mental health today. Hot girl walk? Grey’s Anatomy binge? Meditation? Mani/pedi? Hooky Day? Post a pic on Instagram and tag us @heremindsindy.
And ICYMI
We’re keeping it brief today so you can get back to prioritizing you. Here are a few things you may have missed (but that can totally wait until tomorrow):
This interview with Poppy Jaman, global CEO of the MindFoward Alliance on why and how she places mental health at the center of a global business movement.
The latest on the growing gap between kids and mental health care access
Tips on how to vet mental health advice on social media (or as we like to say, from the kids in your phone)
A recent court ruling may have just given insurers the ability to set their own criteria in deciding whether to pay for treatment.
And last but certainly not least, Megan Thee Stallion recently launched a website chock full of mental health resources and we can’t get enough. Check it out here.

That’s all for now. We’ll be back next week with a deeper dive into all things mental health news. In the meantime, if you love what you read, do us a favor and:
See you next week(ish)!
